Howdy. I started this website on a whim, and I haven't regretted it so far. Call me Tomm, and welcome to my little little corner. I've plethora of interests of a breadth and depth I can't fathom, really. There's always something interesting just around the corner. I'm essentially never bored.
I'm a casual, if novice, coder but mostly I enjoy writing whatever's currently a-buzzing in my head at the time. My thoughts stray from home, my butterfly net never catching them all. I like to think I wake up every morning with a Rubik's cube pre-scrambled; I go through the day de-scrambling my mind, scribbling margins in my lists, organizing, working, and probably forgetting something important along the way - only to have it scrambled again the very next day. I'm a work-in-progress.
I think it was somewhere around my sixth jitter episode that I realized that I am not a coffee drinker, which disappointed me more than I care to admit. Gone are the days when I can hunch over my study with a cup of New Orleans chickory coffee, straight from the tin; gone the bitter, smokey flavor; gone the many coffee rings that used to stain my desk and stray sheets of paper and crumpled draft fodder; gone my coffee-drinking buddies, my french press, my quirky, sarcastic mugs - all down the rubbish bin - and not just the java veriety even! I can't even drink Earl Gray on a good day...
Putting my beverage problem aside, I tend to pass the wee hours reading, jotting, walking, and always exploring in every sense of the word. "Memento mori" is my guiding compass, a more refined verson of YOLO, perhaps - certainly a less annoying motto in any case. Active engagement is the crux of which I find myself constantly working on, questioning over and over - "am I doing good?". There are days when I feel like I am never reaching the mark and other times when I simply laugh it off and take a catnap.
Anyhoo, I hope enjoyed this sneak peak into the wacky, wubbulous world of Tomm. This personal website is very much in construction, so do expect to see some changes (this page included). All the best, cheers!
